WBC Goes To Prom

That's right. Fred Phelps is at it again.

The Westboro Baptist "Church" will be making an appearance at Constance McMillen's high school graduation (the teenager who was denied the right to bring her girlfriend to prom).

The kids and parents at Itawamba successfully excluded Constance from her prom, but there will be no way for them to omit her from the graduation ceremony. What I wonder is what action the school and parents will take now that their position on the issue has attracted the attention of the WBC. Now it's not just Constance who will be affected, but the entire graduating student body and the family and friends who will be attending the ceremony will have to deal with Westboro's BS.

Fred Phelps announced, “WBC will picket the graduation of Itawamba Agricultural High School to remind the parents, teachers and students of this nation that God said 'Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is abomination.’”

“The parents of Fulton, MS feign outrage that a filthy dyke wants to parade her 'girlfriend' around at their night of fornication called a prom. They had a duty to teach their children what the Lord requires of them. They shirked this duty,” said the church announcement......yet the WBC didn't picket at prom.

I think that we can all agree on the sheer ridiculousness that is Westboro Baptist Church. So to end my stream of not-so-happy posts on a (somewhat) positive note; here are some really awesome signs in response to the WBC:

and my favorite,
